CEO Corner: A Fresh Start for 2025

Happy New Year, Hearth family!

As we step into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible progress we made
last year and share our vision for the road ahead. Your support has been the foundation of
every success we’ve achieved, and I am endlessly grateful for the role you play in advancing
Hearth’s mission to end elder homelessness.

Reflecting on 2024: Progress Worth Celebrating

Thanks to your generosity and partnership, 2024 was a landmark year for Hearth. Just a quick
snapshot of the data we’re compiling shows that together, we:

• Secured stable housing for 74 older adults who were homeless or at risk of homelessness.
• Provided outreach, stabilization, and prevention services to over 300 older adults
• Expanded critical services through new partnerships, allowing Hearth to reach even
  more older adults in need of support
• Advocated successfully for policies that prioritize housing solutions for our vulnerable
  elderly population.

These milestones are not just numbers—they represent real lives transformed, and we couldn’t
have done it without you! Coming soon, Hearth’s 2024 annual/impact report. This report will
provide specifics on the impact of our work, your support, and the lives we changed together.

Looking Ahead: Ambitious Goals for 2025

This year, we are committed to deepening our impact through three key priorities:

1. Outreach and Prevention: We aim to increase the number of individuals we support
   through our Outreach and Prevention efforts. Our outreach team works every day to find
   affordable housing options for sheltered and unsheltered individuals, while our
   prevention case managers focus on accessing resources and direct support to help
   those older adults who are at risk of becoming homeless.
   
2. Advocating for Change: With your help, we will continue to champion policies that
   address the root causes of homelessness for older adults in and around Boston. We
   need to ensure that those in need have the safety and dignity they deserve.
   
3. Strengthening Our Community: We will expand our network of supporters and
   partners to ensure Hearth’s sustainability and growth.

Let me introduce you to Lisa, a recent Hearth resident whose journey embodies the resilience
and hope that drives our work. After years of instability, Lisa found a home with Hearth. Today,
she is thriving, reconnecting with her passions, and serving as an inspiration to others. Stories
like Lisa’s remind us why our work matters.
