Anna Bissonnette House

South End, Boston

1640 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02118 | 617-369-1568

Located at the intersection of Washington and East Concord Streets in Boston’s South End, Anna Bissonnette House (ABH) opened in 1997 to provide permanent supportive housing to low income and formerly homeless elders.

Originally the Aerated Bread Company factory, the site was beautifully renovated and decorated to provide 22 studio and 18 one-bedroom apartments. Common areas are available on each floor, in addition to the Shapiro Community Room in the lobby, the roof-top deck, and the large patio.

Residents come from a wide diversity of backgrounds. Hearth’s staff and volunteers support the multifaceted health and mental health service needs, and community activities of all its residents.
