COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund

 

As we all collectively come to grips with the current reality of the COVID-19 crisis it becomes more and more apparent that Hearth’s residents and clients are currently sitting at the epicenter of those most vulnerable and potentially the most affected by this illness.

According to the CDC, those at highest risk of becoming very sick from this illness are older adults and those who have serious medical conditions such as, Heart disease, Lung disease and Diabetes. Conditions such as these are often found at much higher rates among the homeless population, sometimes three to six times higher than that of the general population. Currently, at least half of Hearth’s residents and clients fall within two if not more of these risk areas. As is the case with many other illnesses and diseases, we fear that COVID-19 will be no different in disproportionately affecting the poor and most vulnerable, in this case, homeless seniors.

Please consider making an emergency donation to ensure Hearth can continue operating without interruption. The goal is to raise $250,000 as quickly as possible.

Your donations today will be used to:

  • Help fund operational needs through June as we adjust to the new normal of dealing with COVID-19 on a daily basis

  • Establish a food pantry for Hearth Residents and Outreach Clients facing food insecurity due to COVID-19

  • Purchase virus prevention supplies such as hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial wipes and personal protective equipment for nurses and any other staff in regular contact with residents and clients
